Our History

The Beginning – Shifflett’s Trash Service

In 1983, Eugene “Bubby” Shifflett and his wife, Rita founded Shifflett’s Trash Service in Stafford County. Shifflett’s later expanded into Spotsylvania and King Georges counties. Shifflett’s was known throughout the area for its unparalleled personalized and reliable service.

In 2011, after almost thirty years of serving the people of Stafford County and the surrounding areas, Mr. & Mrs. Shifflett decided to retire and sell their company to a large, out-of-state corporation. Almost immediately after the sale, previous customers and HOAs began to call the Shiffletts and ask them to please consider going back in business, but they signed a five year non-compete clause with the sale.

October 1st, 2016 – Shifflett’s Waste Services

In October 2016, after the non-compete clause expired, Mr. & Mrs. Shifflett’s son Danny decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and started his own trash company, Shifflett’s Waste Services. Danny is proud to service customers of Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and King George counties as well as the City of Fredericksburg. Shifflett’s Waste Services gives the same personalized, reliable service  Shifflett’s Trash Service customers were so accustomed to. Danny Shifflett gives his personal guarantee to make sure every customer is well taken care of.
