SAVAG Südhessische Abfall-Verwertungs GmbH is a joint company of the Riedwerke district of Groß-Gerau, the ZAS Zweckverband Abfallverwertung Südhessen, Meinhardt Städtereinigung and Rhein-Main-Deponie GmbH. The shareholders hold an equal share in the company. The company was founded in January 2006 .; In 2010, Rhein-Main-Deponie GmbH was added as the fourth partner.

SAVAG is run by four part-time managing directors, one each from Riedwerke, ZAS, RMD and Meinhardt Städtereinigung.
Services
The SAVAG offer includes waste treatment in the Büttelborn interim storage facility. The construction and operation of a class II landfill, slag processing and the joint management of waste quantities in southern Hesse.
