WHO WE ARE

Rubbish.com offers speedy and cost-effective on-demand man & van bulky waste, rubbish and junk removal services to homes and businesses across the UK. We are registered with the Environment Agency as upper tier waste carriers, brokers and dealers (CBDU253265). We offer a flexible nation-wide service, and our specially-adapted vehicles are situated all across the country, so our services nearly always delivered by local providers.

We were founded in 2014 by technology entrepreneur Al Lijee, who established the network as a quick and affordable alternative to hiring a skip. He believed he could change the way that homes and businesses disposed of waste in both an affordable and environmentally responsible way. Initially operating with a small customer-base in the Manchester area, we now offer our expert services across all the towns and cities of the UK.

OPERATING MODEL

Our network consists of well-established firms of independent waste carriers, with locations all across the UK. Our online platform harnesses the latest in smart technology to enable us to respond quickly when rubbish clearance and removal opportunities arise. Our use of technology enables us to offer individual jobs to the most appropriate operators, based on their proximity, resource availability and individual areas of expertise. Our platform gives us a real-time view of service levels, plus the ability to track individual carriers to see who is available at a given time. This method of working has a number of benefits for both the customer and the waste carrier. The customer benefits by being put in contact with the local carrier who is best able to provide the level of service they need, at the right price. The waste carrier benefits from having a steady stream of appropriate work allocated to them, helping them to grow their business organically.

We believe that our unique operational model gives us several advantages – rapid speed of response, high levels of reliability and most importantly when it comes to being environmentally friendly, minimises the vehicle mileage per job. Our mileage levels are considerably lower than those achieved by the national operators, who tend to work to a more traditional model. We are proud to be able to say that our members make the most efficient use of existing local rubbish and waste handling infrastructure, without having a negative impact on the environment or levels of traffic congestion.
