Roberts Overdoors, Family-Owned & Operated Since 1958

In 1956, Howard Roberts started Roberts Overdoors, Inc. from his garage. Howard built the business by selling and installing one garage door at a time. Hard work and perseverance led to the growth of the businesss and a move in 1958 to the present location just north of Derby at 6104 Southeast Boulevard.

In 1985, David Mann and his wife Barbara purchased the business. David had been an employee for 20 years at the time of the purchase. After David’s death in 1995, his son Dave (Davey), along with Barbara, took over the leadership of the company. Davey had been a part of the business since he was four years old. Davey continued to operate the business until 2008 when he needed to leave the company for health reasons. Barbara stayed on until 2011 when she and David’s youngest son Christopher purchased the business. Chris like Davey has been working around the shop off and on since he was 7yrs old. Chris has also worked in garage door and operator manufacturing, which gives him a diverse background in the Garage Door Industry.

Service is always emphasized whether it’s installing a new commercial rolling steel door or replacing a spring on a residential garage door. We at Roberts enjoy doing business in and about the Derby/Wichita and surrounding areas. Our customers are the most important people in our business; they are not an interruption of our work but rather the purpose of it. We consider our customers the life-blood of our business.
