The Relectro company in Buxtehude has been a waste management partner of the municipalities and numerous companies in the Elbe-Weser region since 1992.

As a certified waste management company, we guarantee high-quality, partly by hand, dismantling, environmentally friendly disposal of pollutants and extensive recycling of materials.

The company fulfills the requirements as a specialist waste disposal company in accordance with Section 56 of the Recycling Management Act in conjunction with the Specialized Waste Management Company Ordinance and is a certified initial treatment facility within the meaning of Section 21 of the ElektroG. The waste management activities include "collecting, transporting, storing and treating".

The RELECTRO companies were founded in 1992/1993 by the local advanced training centers of the former educational establishment of the Lower Saxony Volkshochschulen GmbH (short: BNVHS GmbH) according to the “Social Companies” funding program. After a company merger in 2018, RELECTRO-Buxtehude belongs to the German Employees Academy GmbH.

The aim was to help the long-term unemployed and severely disabled people to work and at the same time to create a locally desired environmental service. The companies have long been working according to economic criteria, but still with the premise of bringing disadvantaged groups of people into work. Profits generated in recycling flow towards the charitable goals of vocational training through DAA GmbH.
