Ream Jewelers is a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, icon. Robert S. Ream, the store’s founder, first opened its doors in 1935 at a location on West King Street. In 1960 our family took over the business and eventually relocated to its’ current Queen Street location in 1972. It was in 1985 that Alan and Rochelle Friedland acquired the family business. While other local jewelers moved out of the downtown area, Ream Jewelers remained true to its Lancaster heritage. “We’ve always been a city company and we’ll remain here,” Alan said. “I think our loyalty to the city and the city’s loyalty to us is paying off – revitalization is everywhere.

Ream Jewelers is passionate about paying back the community that has supported them for 80 years. They proudly support many organizations, including: The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, Aaron’s Acres, local churches and high schools, hospice, The Humane Society, the Ann Barshinger Foundation, the Fulton Theater, and the Prima Theater

Ream Jewelers is a member of the prestigious American Gem Society. To become a member, a jeweler must meet and maintain the strictest ethical and professional standards, as well as pass extensive courses in gemology. Members are retested annually. Less than 5% of all jewelers in the United States and Canada are qualified for membership. Ream Jewelers is also a member of the Gemological Institute of America, Jewelers of America, Rotary International and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce
