Rebox was established in early 2010, my background is in waste management and recycling. I originally started a waste company in the 1990s with my father.

In 1998 I established Greenguard Recycling Limited

By early 2007 Greenguard was generating just under €3m in a year

Employing 12 fulltime staff

Was winner of 3 Repak Awards (finalist)

Was waste contractor to some of Ireland’s largest blue-chip companies

Greenguard was handling just under 10,000 tonnes of waste a year of which 90% was recycled

By 2010 due to the economic downturn the recycling company was forced to close down. Finding myself at 41 with 3 young children I started again with literally nothing but an idea of going back to a family tradition dating back to my grandfather who in the 1940’s and 1950’s used to collect cardboard boxes for reuse with a horse and cart.
