Poly Recycling is one of the most successful plastic recycling companies in Europe. Our company currently employs around 40 people and has budgeted emissions of more than 25,000 tons for 2015.

Poly Recycling mainly recycles PET. PET bottles are widely used as raw materials. These recyclable materials come mainly from Switzerland, and some from neighboring countries. The raw material is automatically washed, sorted and extruded into specified granulates on the most modern systems.

Poly Recycling is a supplier and partner to many respected plastics processors across Europe. The main applications for the poly-PET regrind and regranulate are fibers, foils and packaging tapes. The quantities of PET for the production of multilayer bottles and engineering plastics are increasing.

History

In 1975 Poly Recycling AG was founded. After a few initial difficulties, the company developed continuously in the care and under the umbrella of Model AG in Weinfelden.

In 1986 over 10,000 tons of waste were processed for the first time.

In 1987, Poly Recycling AG moved into the new plant, adjacent to Model AG, and thus separated from Model AG.

In 1988 the output was already 14,000 tons.

1993 wurde am gleichen Standort eine neue PET-Fabrik mit einer Kapazität von über 7’000 Tonnen eröffnet. Dort werden unter anderem die durch die PET Recycling Schweiz (PRS) gesammelten PET-Flaschen rezikliert und zu PET-Flakes verarbeitet. Nach zusätzlichen Kapazitätserweiterungen wurde im PE eine 3-Schicht-Kapazität von ca. 19’000 Tonnen erreicht.

1997 wurde für eine erneute Volumenerhöhung zur weiteren Expansion in Europa auf 4-Schichtbetrieb umgestellt. Dies ermöglichte einen Ausstoss von über 26’000 Tonnen Polyolefine und über 10’000 Tonnen PET-Flakes.

1999 wurde die Produktionskapazität aufgrund der schwierigen Marktsituation zurückgefahren und es wird wieder im 3-Schichtbetrieb gearbeitet. 1999 betrug das Volumen ca. 13'000 Tonnen Polyolefine und 12'000 Tonnen PET. Die PET-Granulierung wurde gestartet.

2000 wurde die PET Verarbeitung durch die ITW für den Weiterausbau des Kerngeschäfts übernommen. Eine Jahresvermarktung von mehr als 15'000 Tonnen PET sind realisiert. PE-Recycling wird unter Innoplastics AG noch am bestehenden Standort weitergeführt.

2001 wird eine weitere Volumensteigerung in der PET Verarbeitung angestrebt. Budgetiert sind mehr als 15'000 Tonnen. Der Auszug der PE wird bis April andauern.

2002 ist für die Herstellung von Regranulat im Bereich Nahrungsmittel eine Vacurematechnologie installiert worden.

2005 wurde eine automatische Flaschensortieranlage installiert.

2010 wurde ein Aluminiumabscheider in der Sortieranlage eingebaut.

2011 erhalten wir das EuCertplast Zertifikat.

2012 installierten wir eine vollautomatische Material und Flakessortierung.

2013 erhalten wir das Zertifikat für das Umweltmanagmentsystem 14001

In 2014, the ITW's industrial packaging division was taken over by SIG (Signode Industrial Group). Our company name is now Poly Recycling GmbH

2015 Poly Recycling GmbH merges into Signode Industrial Group GmbH. Our new name is Signode Industrial Group GmbH, Poly Recycling branch.

2017 Sale of Poly Recycling to Resilux on October 1st

The system sets new standards in terms of safety, quality and traceability in the production process and ensures that PET recycling is even more environmentally friendly.
