About Company

As a certified plastic recycling company with a pioneering spirit, Occhipinti has been supplying the cycle of the electrical, automotive and precision engineering industries with well-sorted and high-quality plastics and plastic granulates since 1975. Thinking sustainably, environmentally friendly and economically, that's what we've been doing for over 35 years. For which we have already been certified and awarded several times , among others by TÜV NORD and the professional association for raw materials and the chemical industry.

HISTORY

Renewal of the bottling plant

2018 : New construction of the complete filling system for the sack and also octabin goods (a system tailored to our wishes, including specially made octabin packaging to counteract filling fluctuations)

Occhipinti again receives the "Safe with a System" seal of approval from the trade association for raw materials and the chemical industry.

2017 : Introduction of a new generation of classification systems (more throughput, high time and energy savings, long parts no longer line up, fine ground material is separated out more efficiently)

Renewal of the dedusting plant

2016 : Exchange of the existing dedusting system. (This was specially built by a special company according to our requirements. This enables us to achieve an even more efficient dedusting with better kg / h throughput)

2015 : Acquisition of a new compressor including optimization of the entire compressed air supply in the company (This gives us 45% savings in electricity, long-term economy, noise emissions) Exchange of the existing deionization system (savings in electricity consumption and reduction in cleaning time)

Occhipinti again receives the "Safe with a System" seal of approval from the trade association for raw materials and the chemical industry. Another 40 percent increase in sales can be realized.

2014 : Occhipinti thinks sustainably: optimized tours and trucks with a higher payload and the Euro 6 emissions standard protect the environment, renewed glass panels in the workshop and new gas heating save up to 40 percent energy and heating costs.

2013 : Occhipinti relaunched the homepage - and is pleased to now provide even better information about recycled plastic products from Occhipinti.

2012 : Occhipinti again receives the "Safe with a System" seal of approval from the trade association for raw materials and the chemical industry. Another 40 percent increase in sales can be realized.

New deionization plants

2011 : Occhipinti purchases new deionization systems - and modernizes the company logo and external presentation.

2010 : The company can double its sales and open up new markets in the retail sector.

Seal of approval "Safe with a system"

February 2009 : Occhipinti receives the "Safe with a System" seal of approval from the raw materials and chemical industry association. In July 2009, the Mayor of the City of Lüdenscheid, Dieter Dzewas, and a representative of the Business Unit honored the company with their visit.

2008 : Giorgio Occhipinti takes over 100 percent of the company's shares and merges S. Occhipinti GmbH and Occhipinti GmbH & Co.KG into plastic products Occhipinti GmbH & Co. KG.

New metal detection systems

2006 : Occhipinti installs new metal detection systems and acquires another truck.

Certifications and octabin filling

2005 : On November 2, 2005, the company achieved the standards DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 and DIN EN ISO 14001: 2005. At the special request of customers, Occhipinti now also enables the regrind to be filled in octagon boxes.

2003 : Despite increasing material sales, an optimized storage system creates space for a young company, Märkische Stanz-Partner Normalien GmbH, which is now under the roof of the plastic products S. Occhipinti GmbH. With two mills and eight employees, around 1,000 tons of regrind are produced annually in the plant.

Regranulates and new goods

2002 : At the customer's request, the company expanded its range with regranulates and new goods, which were only traded by well-known suppliers.

New certifications

September 2002 : The plastic products S. Occhipinti GmbH meets the standards DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 and DIN EN ISO 14001: 1996.

1999 : The company obtains the subsequent certification to DIN EN ISO 9002 from TÜV Rheinland Cologne.

The second generation

June 1, 1999 : Giorgio Occhipinti, son of the company founder Salvatore Occhipinti, takes over the management of the company.

1997 : The GmbH receives the "Award for high customer satisfaction" from the Steinbeis Foundation for Economic Development.

1996 : TÜV Rheinland Cologne awards S. Occhipinti GmbH plastics certification according to DIN EN ISO 9002.

New construction and name change

1987 : The second construction phase of the company premises in Lüdenscheider Jüngerstraße is completed.

1985 : The company changes its name. The sole proprietorship plastic grinding company Salvatore Occhipinti becomes the plastic products S. Occhipinti GmbH. At the same time, the move and new construction of an 800 square meter facility on Jüngerstraße in Lüdenscheid can be realized. The in-house development of a special sieve shaker in the same year guarantees a constant plastic grain and contributes to the reputation and growth of the company. In the meantime, operations at two mills take place around the clock with five employees. Around 180 tons of regrind can be processed per month.

The first years

1983 : The company grows. Because of an acute lack of space, goods are sometimes even on the street.

1982 : Free reusable packaging for customers of the plastics grinding company is introduced.

1980 : Salvatore Occhipinti expands its range. The commercial grinding services business also includes trading in plastic granules and regrinds. From the cooperation partner Ferd. Bochmann GmbH stores 300 tons of goods.

1979 : In the Karolinenstraße in Lüdenscheid, an additional outdoor warehouse with 600 square meters is put into operation.

1978 : The storage area is enlarged to 400 square meters.

1977 : Occhipinti purchases a truck for 4.5 tons payload for customer delivery.

1975 : Salvatore Occhipinti founds the plastic grinding company Salvatore Occhipinti. The company starts its operations in Altenaer Straße in Lüdenscheid due to the demand recognized by the company founder for regrind from plastic residues. The interest of local plastics companies exceeds all expectations and will soon make it necessary to look for larger production and storage areas. With a mill and two employees, about 80 tons of different thermoplastics are processed each month.
