Pete's Outflow Technicians was founded in 1953 by the original owner, Pete Walquist, offering septic tank and line cleaning services in Santa Cruz County. Pete owned and operated the business solely until 1966, when Darrel Brown was hired on as temporary help. Darrel came from the California State Parks, maintaining and rebuilding the local area beaches, parks and campgrounds. In the off season, Darrel went to work with Pete and ended up staying as the company's first full-time employee.

From then on Pete's Outflow began to grow into what would become the family-owned and operated company that it is today. Darrel's wife, Sara, started working in the office shortly after Darrel came to the company. She handled the billing operations while Pete and Darrel serviced the customers. In 1971 Darrel and Sara bought Pete's Outflow Technicians and Pete retired.

As Darrel and Sara's family grew, so did their business. After their three sons grew-up and finished school, they all joined on full-time. Over the years much of the Brown family and friends have become involved with the business, whether in the office or with the service crew.

Today, Sara is still running the office. All three sons, with the help of a couple additional great technicians, make up our outstanding service crew. And Darrel, though close to retirement, is still very involved with all aspects of the business. We still offer that same great, personalized service that only a family-owned and operated business can provide.

Pete's Outflow Technicians feels strongly about the quality service that we offer and our connection to the community. Maintaining a strong local presence and positive relationships with our many loyal customers is very important to us. We are grateful to those that have chosen us over the years and look forward to many more years of providing reliable, honest, knowledgeable and friendly service to our community.
