About Company

We have been in business since 1975 and are a machine shop that specializes in precision, close tolerance turning and milling work.

We excel in the parts which are difficult to machine, that other shops do not want to manufacture.

Our best quantity range is from a few to a few hundred pieces. We excel in quality and on time delivery.

Penco is a 100% woman owned and operated company.

We are the home of the “Artisans of Machining”

History of Penco Precision Machining

In 1974 while working as a partner in a shop in South El Monte, Glynn Pennington had the dream of his own shop. One where he could take the shop forward into the new world of CNC machining and being able to do the more complicated machining he could see on the horizon. And while he could run the shop, he needed someone to handle the front office and sales for the company. Franci Taylor came into his life and he introduced her to the world of manufacturing. She became as fascinated with this world as he was. Glynn then shared his dream with her and Franci agreed to going out on their own. Glynn would run the shop and technical side of the business and Franci would handle the front office and sales for the new company ~ Penco Precision.

On Thursday, May 01, 1975, Glynn and Franci opened Penco Precision in the City of Industry, CA. On that day,Franci handed a Purchase Order (Penco’s first one!) to Glynn. It was for $1749.00. A pretty good sized order in 1975. They left the shop immediately and went to buy a Bridgeport Mill. Fortunately, there was one on the floor at the machinery sales site and the machine was delivered the next day. On Friday, May 02, 1975, Penco’s first employee was hired and a lathe was purchased. On Monday, May 05, 1975, spindles were turning and chips were being made! The first delivery of perfect parts was on Thursday, May 29, 1975 ~ one day ahead of schedule. And Penco’s reputation for parts that met the blueprint call outs, purchase order requirements, and Penco began in a 3000 square foot facility and in 1980, Penco took over the space next door, expanding to 6000 square feet.

In 1985, needing to expand the Deburring Department, Shipping and Receiving as well as expanding and enclosing the Inspection Department, Penco took over a third space and now covered 9000 square feet. This also provided more room for new machinery and an expansion of the workforce.

In 1997, Glynn purchased the property in Fontana where Penco is currently situated. The move to Fontana was made in August of 1997. This gave Penco 15000 square feet and the ability to convert the empty space to meet the needs for a Foreman’s Office, a temperature and humidity controlled Inspection Department, expanded break room and work space for employees. In 2010, Penco added a second delivery vehicle as well as a full-time driver to continue the excellent quality and on-time- delivery reputation that had continued since the very first Glynn and Franci were married in September, 1999, and continued to work together at Penco. Glynn still handling the shop, the technical side of things and Franci handling the front office and sales. In 2008, Penco became ISO 9001-2008 compliant and in 2010, Penco became ISO 9001-2008 Certified.

Never ones to lean on the laurels of past achievements, Glynn and Franci pushed forward with the certification process in order to open more doors for Penco and in 2014, Penco became AS 9001C Certified.

In July, 2014, the dreamer who dreamed of ~ and created ~ a company named “Penco”, died suddenly of a heart attack. Glynn Pennington had, as always, thought of the future and saw to it that the company, in its entirety went to his wife, Franci. Having worked side by side with Glynn for all those years had taught Franci what she needed to know to step into the role of President.

Franci Pennington is now the President and sole owner of Penco and is leading the company into the future.
