The purpose of the public limited company OVMB is to operate a landfill in the Ghent canal zone . This currently includes the following activities:

• the recovery of industrial waste,
• the solidification of waste.

OVMB is located along the John Kennedylaan, opposite the Rodenhuizedok and is very easy to reach via the motorways, railways and water. The carefully selected site covers 32 hectares. Click here for directions .

The exploitation of the landfill started in 1994. It concerns a landfill with a total storage capacity of more than 3 million tons. The following industrial waste materials, among others, can be dumped: water purification sludge from companies, incineration residues, contaminated soil, blasting grit waste, shredder waste, etc.

At the beginning of 1998, OVMB expanded its activities with the solidification and stabilization of waste materials, with the aim of offering an environmentally sound but economically feasible solution for a large number of "problem waste materials".

The OVMB company is a subsidiary of the Herbosch-Kiere group. Herbosch-Kiere is a company from the Eiffage Benelux group, which in turn is part of the French Eiffage group.

OVMB removes (industrial) waste materials in a suitable facility in an environmentally friendly manner with an explicit concern for quality, environment and professional management.

The human-sized structure guarantees efficient and rapid adaptation.
