The term "E-Waste or E-Scrap" is loosely applied to consumer and business electronic equipment that is near or at the end of its useful life.

Used electronics which are destined for reuse, resale, salvage, recycling or disposal are also considered E-Waste. Informal processing of E-Waste can lead to adverse human health effects and environmental pollution.

Basically, electronic waste is not typically taken at landfills or most recycling facilities. It needs to be processed correctly for it to be environmentally friendly waste.
