In 1965 John C. McGregor, Sr. purchased Morgal Machine Tool Company from his friend and neighbor, Frank Morgal, who started the company in 1939. Back then, Morgal was an 8-employee tool and die shop with $68,000 in annual sales. Recognizing a need in the industry for quality stamped sprockets, Mr. McGregor and Morgal embarked on an impressive 30 year period of growth as the go-to supplier for sprockets in everything from bicycles to riding lawn mowers, changing Morgal forever as a supplier of parts rather than a supplier of dies.
