Hello! We hope that Max’s is unlike any other jewelry store that you’ve visited. In our boutique, we strive to create a casual environment where shoppers feel warmly welcomed and informed as they browse our collections. We represent designers who we believe are the best at what they do, are true artisans and craftspeople, and who are creating jewelry that is beautiful, different and, sometimes, a bit unconventional. Our approach to selling jewelry at Max’s is wrapped around the idea of telling stories that we love—about the artist and the inspiration behind a piece of jewelry that you’re going to put on your body to help tell your personal story to the world. And while we think that trends are fun to watch and talk about, we feel that what matters most is that you are comfortable in what you’re wearing and that it reflects your individuality and how you live your life. At Max’s our motto is “make your style your statement.” In addition to jewelry, our shop is known for delicious collections of artisanal chocolate from around the world, as well as home décor and other gift items. I hope that those of you who have been to Max’s know that I’ve tried to create a store that has things that are new and different for shoppers in the Twin Cities, and one that’s fun, too! I spent over twenty years in the corporate business world, and much of that time was “on the road.” It was during my travels that I realized that there were some great things out there that I had never seen here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. My job now is to find those things and bring them to you!

I’ve heard people describe Max’s so many different ways – a great jewelry store, a candy store, a gift store, that chocolate place, a concept store, and the “I’m Sorry Honey Store.” I think of Max’s as a jewelry store more than anything else, but you might be more tempted by the beautiful hand-blown glass pieces and gift items, or the unique chocolates – bars, caramels, truffles, toffee and more –made by chocolatiers from around the world. Either way, it is my hope that you’ll find something that you love, as I’ve hand-selected everything in the store from artisans who I think represent the best in terms of design, craftsmanship and quality. And when people ask how and why I ever decided to mix chocolates into a jewelry store, I often feel that I don’t have a very catchy answer to that – it’s just that they’re two things that I’ve always loved – really great and different jewelry and really delicious chocolate. I know, not very catchy, right?!?! Well… I like to think that’s until you see our selection of unique jewelry and have a taste of the artisan-made chocolates with ingredients like chili peppers, blueberries, and olive oil in them… just to name a few. Have I tempted you yet?

A lot of people have asked me about the name of the store and who Max is. Max was my grandfather and the owner of Max’s Jewelry Company in Michigan for over 50 years. When I was working in my “corporate” job, and people would ask me what my ideal job was, I always said that I’d like to own my own store. So, it is with that long-term desire, a passion for style and quality, and the hope that some of my “Papa’s” knowledge about the business rubbed off on me, I welcome you to Max’s. Enjoy!
