About Company

LEC is an electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Eureka, Montana. As a cooperative, LEC is owned by those who receive our services - our members. We serve over 4,700 members in portions of Lincoln and Flathead counties. Incorporated in 1948, LEC is loyal in its commitment to provide our members with the most reliable electric service available at the lowest possible cost. In addition to providing electrical service to the communities we serve, LEC promotes and facilitates local economic development. We are also committed to enhancing the quality of life for our members and the public at large.

Lincoln Electric’s front office will be under renovation from November 14 - January 6. During this time, the front office will be relocated to the Board Room in our existing building. Members can access this by using the north entrance to our building. The drive thru will be closed, though members can still deposit payments in the drop box located in the drive thru area. For members needing mobility assistance, please ring the doorbell located in the north parking lot.

We apologize to our members if this causes any inconvenience. The front office is being remodeled to improved customer service and increase security.

Calling all Lincoln Electric members!

We need your help. Please consider attending one of these meetings if possible so the voices of our members can be heard during this process. We, electric ratepayers of the Pacific Northwest, will ultimately be the ones who will pay for and be most affected by the outcome of this process. We need to ensure that our voices are heard over those who do not have a financial stake in the outcome. Large companies that do not benefit from, or pay for, the affordable, low-carbon-footprint electricity of the Columbia River Hydro System have been sending buses of people to these meetings. Please let the agencies know how losing the amazing resource that is our hydro-electric system would affect your life as a member of Lincoln Electric and resident of the Pacific Northwest.

Activate An Existing Service

To activate an existing LEC service, please contact our office. We will need to determine what is necessary for that specific service location.

Some items for your consideration:

If you will be a new member, a completed Member Information Form will need to be returned to LEC. Please complete the first page of the form, then sign and date the second page. If it is to be a joint account, please have both new members complete their information and provide a signature. Keep in mind that we will be able to discuss the account only with the member(s) who have submitted their information and signature on the Member Information Form.

For any new or additional service on an account, LEC will also need to evaluate the credit basis to determine advance payment requirements. If no good credit history can be established, an advance payment will be required to activate the existing service. This advance payment will be twice the highest bill or $100, whichever is greater. After you have established 12 months of good payment history with LEC, this advance payment will be refunded as a credit to your account. If you are being assessed an advance payment, you may want to consider participating in our Pay As You Go program.

If you are applying for membership as a corporation, partnership, political body or non-profit group, you will need to contact LEC to obtain the correct Membership Information Form. We will also need to discuss with you what supporting documents will be required for membership.

As an LEC member, you can take advantage of our AutoPay program. This provides a convenience to our members by allowing LEC to automatically withdraw your bill amount on a set date each month. It can be set up with a credit card (US or Canadian) or a checking account (US banks ONLY). You will still receive a paper or electronic bill and have the ability to check your account balance and usage online. This form is not required to become a member of LEC.

If the service you wish to activate has been inactive or on line retention for 12 months or longer, you may be required to provide LEC with proof of a State of Montana electrical permit and inspection prior to the service being re-energized.
