Founded in 1983, LANOCO Specialty Wire Products, Inc. has grown to become the leading producer of stainless steel brushwire in the United States. We supply a variety of manufacturers a specialty wire product that is made to the precise tolerance, finish, and physical properties required.

Ever since we began, our customers have relied on us for the timely production and delivery of our precision drawn stainless wire. LANOCO has the inventories and production capabilities to process orders with the flexibility and turn around time that is required in today's market.

Today LANOCO manufactures stainless steel for a number of industries that require a consistent and reliable wire product. This wire is available in a variety of materials, diameters, finishes and packages.

History

LANOCO Specialty Wire Products, Inc. was founded in 1983 by John Lannon, Robert Lannon, and Tom O'Connor in Millbury, Massachusetts to service the power brush industry with stainless steel wire products. The business was housed in a 7,500 sq. ft. facility with all of the equipment designed and built by the founders. Since that time the company has grown to become the leading American manufacturer of stainless steel wire to the brush industry.

Originally, the company began purchasing processed wire and converting it into custom packages per customer specifications. All of the original equipment was designed for crimping, straightening, cutting, and stranding of specialty wires. Charged by customer confidence, the company continued to grow and it became evident that LANOCO needed to gain more control over its sources of process wire. Therefore, in 1991, the company moved from its original location to a new facility in Sutton, Massachusetts in order to support the integration of wire drawing into their process. The company continued to invest in equipment required to incorporate stainless steel rod breakdown into their operation. This vertical integration has allowed LANOCO to control the wire quality from beginning to end using the highest quality raw material that ensures a consistent high quality output.

In 1996 the operation had grown to where its capacity exceeded sales. The company began to diversify into other markets where high quality stainless wire was required. Immediate results were achieved and significant sales growth was realized in that year.

In 1997 the Sutton, MA facility was expanded to 28,000 sq. ft. to accommodate additional equipment that was required to support the growth. At this point the company began operating 24 hours a day to provide delivery performance that was industry leading.

The company's first acquisition was completed in 1998. It purchased The Wachusett Wire Company, Inc. in Worcester, Massachusetts. Wachusett Wire, a fine wire manufacturer in many various alloys, including stainless steel, enabled LANOCO to diversify its product base. On March 6, 2001, the Wachusett Wire Company, Inc. merged its operation with LANOCO. This was done to provide one plant that was totally dedicated to the production of fine diameter wire with its primary focus in stainless steel.
