Koscove Metal has been a family owned and operated business in Colorado Springs since 1917. The Koscove tradition of recycling began when Issac Koscove started recycling glass in 1917. His son, Morris Koscove, and his nephew, Sol Koscove, began recycling metal and selling auto parts in downtown Colorado Springs in the mid 1930s. This tradition has continued in the family as Koscove Metal is a fourth-generation recycling business.

TIMELINE OF RECYCING HISTORY AT KOSCOVE METAL:

1917 – Founded by recycling glass and rags

1920 to 1960 – Koscove started recycling all metal products. We knew recycling was the way of the future if we wanted to preserve our planet and create a profit for companies and individuals while doing so.

1960 to late 1970s – Koscove Metal was one of a very few recycling companies to be invited to recycle on many military bases in Colorado including NORAD.

Early 1980s to late 1990s – Koscove started the recycling program for Digital and all associated businesses

Early 2000 to 2012 – The current Koscove owner took over and begun the tedious task of branching into cardboard, plastics, commingle, E-waste, and much more. We also started working on recycling projects all across the country, not just Colorado. From power plant rebuilds to restricted area power upgrades on military bases. All logistics and recycling are handled by Koscove Metal.

Late 2012 to Present – Koscove has been able to recognize, through the many years of experience, the lack of real recycling from most companies. Not because they don’t want to, but from the lack of help from recycling yards and from their own onsite staff people. It takes dedication from everyone, and WE ARE RECYCLING DRIVEN!
