The Koehler paper mill can look back on more than 210 years of company history and, with a turnover of over 900 million euros, is one of the few independent German family companies in the paper industry today. At the headquarters in Oberkirch and the plants in Kehl, Greiz and Weisenbach, over 2,000 employees produce over 500,000 tons of special papers and cardboard with the latest technology for the global market. The company has made it to the top of the world market with thermal papers, playing card boxes and coasters, and with reacto® carbonless papers it is the European leader. Decorative papers for the furniture industry, sublimation papers, high-quality fine papers and special papers as well as colorful recycled cardboard made from 100% secondary fibers round off our product range.

And investments will continue. A new production line for flexible packaging was created at the Kehl plant.

Using all resources sparingly remains inextricably linked to securing the future of the company. That is why the Koehler Group is investing more and more in the field of renewable energies in addition to its core paper business. The long-term goal is to produce more renewable energy than is used for our own paper production.
