Kern Metal Craft was an ornamental metal fabrication shop founded in by Erich Kern (pictured below) in Providence, RI. Erich’s grandson Barrett was never able to be his grandpa’s official apprentice, as Erich passed away in 2001, but paid homage to him and his work by naming the company he founded in 2011 Kern Metal Craft.  Barrett grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.F.A. in Sculpture. His sculptures have won numerous awards and have been shown in many galleries and sculpture gardens.
