About Company

In 2016, Insulation Company of America, located in Allentown, PA, celebrated 35 years in the expanded polystyrene (EPS) industry. The family owned business was founded by Thomas Higgins in 1981 and in 2012 he passed the legacy to his daughters, Cindy Masiko (President) and Sandy Posocco (Vice President). Cindy has been working with her father since 1989 and Sandy rejoined the family business in 2010. Today, at the age of 85, Thomas still mentors and works alongside them.

In 2014, ICA was nationally certified as a Women Owned business, proudly adding WBENC to our credentials. Our team of seasoned customer service personnel and manufacturing associates serves our customers with hundreds of years of combined experience. To enhance that leading edge, we continually reinvest in our business.

In 2015, ICA installed a Hirsch pre-expander and mold. Hirsch is known as the leader in the EPS industry for equipment that produces high quality product with consistency and efficiency. Our new equipment is able to meet the demands of the heavier densities the market is looking for along with the ability to produce custom sizes with our adjustable mold. The combination of our winning team and our commitment to stay ahead of the rest makes ICA your best source for EPS foam products.

ICA is also an environmentally conscious manufacturing plant implementing multiple methods to reduce our carbon footprint. We recycle our in-house EPS trim and accept clean scrap EPS from our customers and the public. In 1994, ICA installed a pentane collection system for air quality control. The system captures the pentane that is released during production and reroutes it through our boiler. This reduces the amount of natural gas we use, saving natural resources while being environmentally responsible. Continued efforts include installing solar panels and upgrading to more energy efficient lighting and manufacturing equipment.

Due to our green efforts, we were happy to announce that in 2011 our 1# ICA-LITE® panels with recycled content and Geofoam were approved to add LEED® points to construction projects.
