Generating aluminum alloys from scrap allows the company to recycle otherwise unused raw material. In a country like Italy, lacking in raw materials, the national industry has pushed towards the development of production processes that use metal scrap from industrial and post-consumer waste  rather than from raw material directly extracted from the subsoil.
