Hulcher Services, Inc. is a nationwide services contractor to the railroads, general industry and government with a commitment from our people for one purpose - to get the job done and done safely. Our headquarters is located in Denton, Texas and we have over 30 divisions strategically located across the United States and Mexico to provide our customers with the best service in the industry.

Our History

In the early 1940s, M.L. Hulcher founded a pipeline-laying company in Virden, IL and expanded the business in 1946 to include the installation and repair of underground gas transmission lines.
 
In 1963, a chance conversation between a railroad official and Glenn Hulcher at a coffee shop planted the idea that would change the railroad contractor industry.
 
At that time railroad companies provided their own people and equipment to service derailments. During this conversation, Glenn suggested that Hulcher could clear derailments more quickly and efficiently using the equipment in his father's pipe-laying company.
 
Two months later he got the chance to prove his claim when a derailment occurred nearby. On this day, the railroad had a difficult time getting their equipment to the derailment. The railroad official called Glenn and as they say - the rest is history. Hulcher's crew arrived and quickly cleared the derailment before the railroad crews could even arrive at the scene.
 
In the years since, Hulcher Services continued to innovate pioneering such ideas as winch-mounted sidebooms and track loaders for railroad services, padded sideboom tracks, thumbs on excavator buckets and hi-rail, rear-control ledge vacuum trucks.
 
Today, Glenn Hulcher has retired but the company continues to be an industry leader with more than 650 employees and 30 divisions located in the United States and Mexico assisting customers with derailments as well as engineering work, track maintenance, disaster response and environmental projects.
