The Haynes Group was established in WA in 1990 as Haynes Mechanical. The original range of services offered was heavy earthmoving equipment repairs and labour hire in the Western Australian Goldfields. It was Haynes Mechanical’s attention to detail and a pride in the service offered to our clients that led to the growth of the business into the broader Haynes Group of today. In June 2012, the acquisition of the now significantly larger Haynes Group by Sime Darby’s Industrial division was finalised. This acquisition provided significant comfort and financial stability to Haynes’ clients, that as a business partner, the Haynes Group can manage both growth and increased market share. Sime Darby has a market capitalisation of (USD) $18.62 billion as at April 2013 and is one of the world’s largest earth moving equipment dealers, with dealerships across more than 100 branches in 10 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region. This scale provides the Haynes Group with the advantages of a stronger balance sheet to enable growth and geographical expansion. The Haynes Group is currently a major service provider to BMA, Rio Tinto, Xstrata, Anglo American Metallurgical Coal, Thiess, Leighton, Downer Group, NRW and Ergon Energy supplying labour hire, crane hire, workshop repair and overhaul facilities and Auto Glass repair for all major mobile and fixed plant equipment in the Bowen Basin, South East Queensland, NSW Hunter Valley and Western Australia’s Goldfields and Pilbara regions. Haynes is one of the business growth achievers within Queensland priding ourselves on employment of local people, including 25 apprentices, and maintaining our excellent safety record.
