Havre Day Activity Center, Inc. is a private non-profit organization using services and supports to promote individuality, choice, and a higher quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.

Havre Day Activity Center, Inc. is a private non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. The purpose of establishing this program in the Havre area was to provide an intensive program to encourage further development of persons with developmental disabilities without regard to sex, race, color, or religious preference. Its role is to provide leadership in marshaling broad public support to meet needs, find new methods, develop skills, broaden and deepen knowledge and disseminate such knowledge, skills, and methods, making them available to all. To meet this need, Havre Day Activity Center, Inc. holds that services should be provided to people with developmental disabilities which will hell them attain maximum physical improvement and emotional maturity, and to secure educational training and employment opportunities consistent with their abilities.

Havre Day Activity Center, Inc. began operations in 1974 with two group homes providing services to children. In our 38 years of operation, HDAC has grown to provide residential services in six homes to 40 adults with developmental disabilities.

In 1990, HDAC purchased the “Motor Parts Warehouse” building and reinvaded it to house the corporate office and to support adult day programs and Sheltered Workshop activities. Our wood working business was moved into the remodeled “Trig” building in 2005.

HDAC is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, registered with the Secretary of State of Montana and recognized as a tax-exempt entity by the Internal Revenue Service.
