Family-owned since 1971, Hascall Steel Company is a full service flat rolled steel service center with plants throughout the Midwest. We provide steel that is slit, sheared, cold reduced, leveled, blanked or deburred in coated and uncoated products.

Hascall Steel Company was formed in 1971 by Wayne Hascall in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company began by renting space and production time on shears from local steel service centers, usually on nights and weekends. Wayne and his sons Karl and Dag performed all the operations of the company, including purchasing, receiving, processing, packaging and delivery for a select group of customers.

In the early 80’s, the Hascall’s secured their first permanent location near downtown Grand Rapids, andthe business expanded into slitting services. In the late 80’s they expanded into the current corporate headquarters in Grandville, MI.

Excellent customer service, a large varied inventory, as well as savvy business sense contributed to the growth of Hascall Steel throughout the early 1990’s.

In time, the sons purchased the company from their father and began a new era of growth and expansion.

During this time the number of production facilities grew, establishing locations in Allegan and Detroit
Michigan. These locations expanded capacities and increased production capabilities including heavy gauge slitting.

Then, in the early 2000’s, the company added to its Detroit presence as well as established facilities in Nashville TN and Benton AR. Throughout the expansion, Hascall Steel maintained an extremely lean corporate structure, paying careful attention to family values and cultivating a very open leadership style. This conveys a sense of pride in workmanship and output into each employee, with the realization that each person has a role to play in the company’s success.

Today, Hascall Steel Company operates from 5 production facilities. We continue to maintain a vast inventory and utilize a large variety of production equipment, giving the company multiple options and flexible capabilities to meet urgent customer demands.
