 Disseminates knowledge about waste and the environment

We invest heavily in disseminating knowledge and influencing attitudes, which is reflected in our business goals. We provide environmental training for companies and train school students and adult groups. Communication campaigns and events are an established part of the business. Together with other players, we also work to conduct knowledge exports to other countries.

Collects with own cars and via contract

Our assignment is to be responsible for the municipal waste management in the five member municipalities Gävle, Sandviken, Hofors, Ockelbo and Älvkarleby. We provide service to 168,000 people and are responsible for the collection, treatment, planning and information regarding household waste. We conduct the business both in-house and through procured contracts. Emptying of sludge and grease as well as treatment of the waste takes place only on a contract basis. Since 2012, the collection of household waste is only done in-house.

 12 recycling centers for bulky waste and hazardous waste

At Sörby Urfjäll in Gävle, there is one of our 12 recycling centers that receives sorted rubbish and hazardous waste. There is also an office, warehouse, workshop and vehicle wash. The office has customer service that answers questions and handles customers' matters. Under the same roof, the union director also sits together with employees in sales, logistics, development, communication, finance, and international relations.
