Green Stream Recycling is the most advanced recycling operation on Long Island. The company is focused on upgrading the material recovery facility (MRF) of Brookhaven, N.Y. allowing the Town of Brookhaven to be the first town on Long Island to adopt single stream recycling.
Green Stream is investing more than $7 million in the project, in which it will process recyclables from across Long Island.
The Brookhaven MRF currently processes about 15,000 tons of paper and 9,000 tons of commingled (bottles, cans and plastics) recyclables from the residential waste stream.
The president of Green Stream Recycling is Will Flower. The vice president and general counsel is Brad Slover. The facility manager is Kenny Bloom.
