Our mission is to reduce the environmental impact of food service packaging in Alaska.
With this mindset, Green Alaska Solutions was created by founder Deborah O’Leary in 2008 as the first sustainably focused food service packaging business in Alaska. Sustainable packaging was not commercially available in the state at that time. Our goal at inception was to create awareness of sustainability in Alaska by providing renewable, plant-based and recycled packaging to the restaurant and food service industry. Since then, the demand for earth-friendly food service disposables has grown exponentially and Green Alaska Solutions has become the industry leader in providing sustainable packaging in Alaska. Today, we uphold the same mission and values to make sustainable packaging available to all Alaskans. We incorporate this mission in our business operations to address sustainability in our products, philanthropy, and practices.
Besides working with the restaurant industry, Green Alaska Solutions is involved in large-scale community festivals and race events, replacing traditional disposables with biodegradable and compostable alternatives, and consulting on ways to minimize waste associated with the event.
Since inception of the company, Green Alaska Solutions has donated over $100,000 in disposable products to charitable and non-profit organizations. Deborah O'Leary has served on multiple panels, educating the public about the benefits of using sustainable packaging.
