When our great-grandfather James Ghilotti, a skilled stonemason & craftsman, came from Italy to America in the early 1900s, he started GBI with the sweat of his brow and a few simple principles: “Earn respect by doing a job well, treat employees with courtesy and respect, and do good work for the community in which you live and work.” These principles still guide us today and have been the cornerstone of our success serving the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 100 years.

Recycling of Materials

Our team recycles rock materials to minimize our environmental impact and reduce costs for clients. We have our very own XH 320 Impact Crusher and a Chieftain 1400 Screen that allows us to recycle and screen broken concrete and asphalt to produce much-needed rock products. Our recycling process cuts costs on dump fees, trucking costs, and outside purchase of rock material—ultimately reducing costs for our customers. Our crushing division recycles all asphalt and concrete material for reuse in new construction to reduce environmental impacts.
