Founded in 1984 as FMB we have been a family owned and operated business in the plastics industry for over 30 years. Originally from the north of the Netherlands the company now has production facilities in 5 countries and successfully conducts business throughout Europe and in over 30 different nations outside the continent.

In 1988 the family acquired the regrinding and compounding factories of HPR as we continued to grow in resource efficienct compounds and recycling. By 1992 we changed the company name to FM Plastics and shifted focus to the development of high value added compounds. Simultaniously we began sharing our knowledge with emerging market partners.

By 2000 two-thirds of our multi-million euro turnover of the FM Group was generated outside of Europe. In the early 2000s FM started focussing on providing services to production companies in (early) emerging market both in scientific knowhow, business services and co-investment.

In the years leading up to 2008 FM Plastics was one of the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands according to the Dutch Chamber of Commerce and the Financieel Dagblad, the Dutch financial newspaper.

Today FM Plastics has a strong presence in nine major industries as a producer of custom made high quality materials for the agricultural, automotive, compounding, construction, consumer goods, natural resources, packaging and petrochemical industries.

In addition to our compounding business we have expanded significantly in recent years through investments into the production of polyethylene, polyvinylchloride, chemical intermediates, liquid blends and composites, industrial and oil & gas processing fluids and  water treatment, processing and management.

Through our joint ventures and partners we are active in the production of various kinds of film and in the material design and manufacturing of automotive parts.
