About Company

We stand for sustainable disposal, care and cleaning. We act responsibly and ensure cleanliness for our customers - and the associated quality of life.

We are the leading full service provider for waste disposal and surface cleaning in the Rhine-Main area. In addition to street cleaning and disposal logistics, the business activities include the operation of various disposal systems and a commercial vehicle workshop as well as traffic safety and event support.

Company history

Since the establishment in 1996 from the Office for Waste Management and City Cleaning, we have developed into the leading full service provider for waste disposal and cleaning in the Rhine-Main region. But clearing, cleaning and disposal took place much earlier in Frankfurt.

In the 19th century

The garbage becomes a communal task

1855 The city of Frankfurt gives the farmers the first orders to remove the rubbish.
1873 The municipal trucking office will start operations on April 1st. With its own fleet of vehicles, it now takes care of the collection of household and street rubbish. Horse-drawn vehicles serve as a means of transport.
1888 The city employs seven overseers, eight department heads, 108 street sweepers and 37 street guards for street cleaning.
1889 The city of Frankfurt am Main acquires the Luisenhof - later the main location of the FES.

In the 20th century

Big machines and recycling

1954 The city cleaning office becomes its own department. It uses sweepers and garbage trucks that have been converted from Wehrmacht vehicles. The Luisenhof in Frankfurt-Bornheim serves as a depot.
1965 With the new district of Nordweststadt, today's waste incineration plant (then: waste incineration plant) is being built, which is constantly being brought up to date with the latest technology.
1986 The waste paper bin will be introduced across the entire city of Frankfurt.
1988 The first nationwide, small-volume, mobile hazardous waste collection is launched.
1992 The yellow bin will be introduced across the whole of Frankfurt.
1994 The waste incineration plant is being renovated.
