When Was The Last Time Your Septic Tank Was Pumped?

Many home and property owners don't know! In Greater Victoria the CRD requires that type 1 septic tanks (gravity fed) be pumped out at least once every 5 years. If you have a type 1 system that is a pressure dispersal type then it should be pumped every 2 years. For type 2 and type 3 systems the CRD recommends annual pumping. These are only minimum guidelines. If you have a large family (4-6+) then waiting 5 years to pump out your septic tank could cause maintenance issues.
