Why do we collect used catalysts at DS Auto?

The reason why our company collects used catalysts is the precious precious metals that they contain, such as Platinum, Palladium and Rod. Although only a few grams of this raw material can be obtained from one catalyst, taking into account the wholesale amounts of catalysts we buy monthly, the amount of precious metals recovered by this method is really impressive!

The largest in the domestic market

It is worth noting that there are only a few companies in Europe that specialize in the processing of catalysts. Why ? This activity is extremely expensive. The process of evaluating the wholesale quantity of catalysts itself requires the specialist knowledge of our staff, the necessary equipment, a laboratory, an appropriate processing plant and the required permits. In addition, the purchase of catalysts requires very high financial outlays. Therefore, experiments with the recovery of precious metals from catalysts at home are not possible.

A network of partners is indispensable

As the largest catalyst processing plant in Poland, we cooperate with many companies involved in the purchase of catalysts. We currently have as many as 71 Partners all over Poland and numerous Partners in 17 European countries.
 
Smaller purchases operate at the regional level. They buy several or a dozen catalysts at a time. Foreign partners operate in a similar way. Their common feature is that the collected catalysts are passed on to one or two large recipients, and they pass them on to us.
 
At the bottom of the chain, there are those who, in addition to iron, non-ferrous metals and lead, are eager to buy catalysts - well below the market price. We warn against cooperation with such purchases. It is completely unprofitable and often illegal.

Price fluctuations are normal

Serious contractors such as DS Auto - thanks to their contacts - keep track of the prices of precious metals on the world market, as well as the prices of processors, in order to be able to offer customers the best possible offer. We should also remember about periodic changes in catalyst prices caused by the fact that sometimes processing plants prefer a specific noble metal, depending on the current conditions, demand, etc.
 
We accurately identify all catalysts. There may be differences within a given type of catalyst, as for some reason they are factory-made in more than one form depending on the market to which they are intended. This is why the catalytic converter cover is essential here and helps us identify the various markings, codes and serial numbers.

If we do not have a given catalyst in our database, we use special devices - spectrometers, which we use to estimate the actual content of precious metals and analyze the catalyst composition after sampling. The spectrometers we use are described as the best on the market and impress with their accuracy.

For comparison - ordinary spectrometers often used to analyze a sample allow the detection of a sugar cube in a bucket of water. The spectrometers we use are able to detect a sugar cube thrown into the sea.
