More than 25 years experience and sustainability competence

Ecological, economic and social competence in the sense of sustainability determine our actions. Our company for plastic production was founded in 1990 by Theo Besgen (formerly at Bayer AG, Plastics Division), as well as Susanne Schmees-Besgen and Dieter and Sigrid Schmees from the Edelstahlwerke Schmees GmbH.

As a medium-sized company, we generated approximately € 10 million in revenue in 2016 with approximately 70 employees and 4 trainees. Approximately one fifth of our employees are female, 45% have a migration background. The average age of our employees is 39 years.

We supply our products in over 25 countries, mainly within Germany, as well as in other European countries, but also in Asia, South and North America. Our export rate is 60%. Since 2014, our company has been working free of emissions. In addition, we are increasingly offering our customers alternatives with bio-based plastics.

After the sudden death of Theo Besgen in die middle of 2018, Susanne Schmees-Besgen sold the company in 2020 to the De Beer Group. Wilma Koolen-Hermkens became the CEO of De Beer Beoplast.

We accompany your idea right from the start

We have the right specialists for the development of your successful product. If desired, we accompany you from the “first rough draft on a beer mat”, through several construction stages, selection of raw material (with a special focus on biobased materials), prototyping, to the finished product. The required molds are produced in-house, so that the necessary control over the complete process is maintained. In case tests are necessary, we can offer these to our customers.
