Damen Carbide has been a family owned business since 1948. For over 70 years, the company has provided precision ground, custom carbide cutting tools and wear parts. Aspiring to follow in their father’s footsteps, both John Bachmeier and Rita Olvera have worked in the family business from an early age. Whether John was cleaning carbide sludge tanks or operating a manual grinder, or Rita was packing finished product or making deliveries to customers, father Jakob Bachmeier instilled a sense of pride and commitment in every task that they tackled. This knowledge and dedication drives the striving for excellence that continues in the third generation at Damen Carbide today. John and his sister Rita both have their sons working and learning the business from the ground up, learning all aspects of the business and keeping the passion for grinding excellence alive in the 21st century.
