At D & J's Cleaning Services, we're your commercial and industrial cleaning specialists, serving customers in the Halifax area with high-quality janitorial services. Our company was founded by Darrell and Judy Grimm in 1985, with a team of four. Incorporated in 1987, our business has expanded throughout NS with work sites across the Halifax Regional Municipality.

We have grown considerably over the 27 years we've been in business, and we now have more than 50 employees. Over the years, we have retained and acquired major contracts with public and private sector clients, with our reliable services.

Department of National Defence at CFB Stadacona

The Department of National Defence (DND), CFB Stadacona, has been instrumental in our company's development over the years. When we got the contract for Juno Tower Wardroom Complex in the April of 2005, our association with DND became stronger.

We provide daily housekeeping services for more than 150 rooms in the complex that often operates in its full capacity, serving high-ranked military personnel, senior government officials and members of the royal family. To quote Juno's facility coordinator, the staff and services of D & J's Cleaning Services are "comparable to a four-star hotel."

Strong leadership, thorough training and harmony between our management and staff are some of the reasons why we have successfully managed our long-term contracts with companies in the public and private sectors. Our projects include:

• Work for the Halifax Regional Municipality at the Acadia School Centre (since 1996)
• Work for the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works at the Public Archives of Nova Scotia (from 2001-2007 inclusive)

Since 2009, we have extended the scope of our services to offer construction cleanups. We have managed construction cleanup projects for a variety of businesses including:
