Craig & Heidt, Inc. is a privately owned industrial civil construction contractor located in Waller, Texas. The company’s roots date back over 70 years and we were incorporated in 1973. The current senior management has been in place since 1999. Our goals are to provide the highest quality work, performed safely, at a fair price. Our philosophy is to work with our clients and engineers as a team to create a truly successful project for all team members. We are fiercely loyal to our clients and have many repeat clients from as far back as the early 1980’s.

Craig & Heidt provides civil construction services for a wide variety of projects and clients in Southeast Texas. Typical clients include Texas DOT, ExxonMobil, Lyondellbasell, Marathon Petroleum, Performance Contractors, S&B Engineers and Constructors, Zachry Group, and Harper Brothers Construction. We maintain Master Service Agreements and prequalification with these and many other clients. The work scope is primarily earthwork, drainage, and paving on projects ranging in size from $20k to $6MM.

We maintain a permanent office, yard, and equipment maintenance facility in west Houston. Our equipment and truck fleet is company owned and maintained by our service technicians.

Our greatest asset is our personnel. Our staff is typically 30 to 50 people, including equipment operators, laborers, truck drivers, mechanics, supervisors, project managers, estimators, clerical, and senior management. Most of our personnel have been on staff for more than 5 years. We typically run 4 field crews of 3 to 10 people: two earthwork / drainage crews, a milling crew, and a paving crew. We have a field engineer on staff to provide horizontal and vertical layout.

We carry above-industry standard insurance coverage, including $1MM workers compensation, $2MM general liability, $1MM automobile, and $5MM excess liability policy limits. We also maintain a bonding line of $5MM to $10MM limits.

We have a robust, active, and highly successful safety program. We routinely complete a year or more with zero recordable injuries. We have a full-time safety professional on staff. Our company maintains Platinum level S.T.E.P. achievement with the Associated Builders and Contractors.
