About Company

Griggs Associates, the predecessor company of Component Management, was founded in 1968 by Dave Griggs of Pickens, South Carolina. He represented manufacturers of custom metal and rubber components, selling to OEM markets in the southeast.  He operated the firm as a single person agency until 1979 when Bill Fitch bought into the company.  In 1993, Dave Griggs retired, selling his interest in the company to Bill Fitch and Ray Coddington.   In September, 1999, Mr. Coddington sold his shares in the firm to Bill Fitch.  The company has been a member and supporter of MANA (Manufacturers’ Agents National Association) for 30 years, with Dave Griggs having served two terms as Board Chairman and Bill Fitch having completed two terms on the Board of Directors in 2005. In 2004, the company changed its name to Component Management, Inc., to more closely represent the current mission of the firm. In late 2006, Michael Brooks became company President.  Mr. Brooks holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the Uninversity of North Carolina at Charlotte. Prior to joining Component Management in June 2000,  He held positions in Purchasing and Marketing with Parker Hannifin Corp. Component Management is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who collectively bring over 70 years of experience working in the Manufacturing sector. We believe that we bring a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience, as well as innovative ideas, to the table and are ready to put it to work for you today.
