CMI was established with the objective of exploring the possibilities and commercializing the results of research conducted at the University of Virginia (UVa) to develop advanced engineered materials. . Since its founding in 2001, CMI has actively partnered with a number of government agencies and private companies to evaluate the viability of Microtruss™ in a wide variety of applications.
