Block Steel’s roots began in the 1920’s when Albert Block started one of Chicago’s first steel warehouses. In 1948, with the assistance of his son Harvey and son-in-law Oscar Wolfson, he founded Block Steel in Forest Park, Illinois.Block Steel continues its family tradition and is currently run by family members.Block Steel is a service center specializing in Aluminized Steel, Types 1 & 2, Aluminized Stainless 409 and Aluminized Steel Tubing. Equipment includes a 72″ slitter & two 60″ multi-cut blanking cut-to-length lines. All are equipped with multi-roll shape correction levelers which improves flatness & minimizes burr.
