Since 1999, Bizkaia Zabor Berziklategiak (BZB) has been distributing and sorting containers and waste generated in Bizkaia. Bizkaia is a leading territory in the field of environmental protection and management.

The BZB Separation and Sorting Plant is a key chain level in the daily attempt of the inhabitants of Bizkaia, that is, to properly separate the waste generated in their homes and shops. After collecting the containers and waste left in the yellow container, they are taken to the plant managed by BZB in Amorebieta. The process ends with the separation of the different fractions of waste, which can then be re-used as raw and secondary materials by the recycling industry.

In this way, it is guaranteed that more than 70% of the packaging waste generated will be used, and we avoid, every year, more than 10,000 of these wastes ending up in landfills.
