For three generations – over 100 years – Berg Jewelry has been a name synonymous with style, quality, value and service. A family tradition, Berg Jewelry continues to embrace those characteristics at every turn.

Berg Jewelry opened in Peterson, IA in 1907 where Halver Berg began his career as a jeweler, selling diamond rings and watches. Norman Berg – Halver’s son – joined his father at the store, but took a bit of a career detour. He served in both WWII and the Korean War as a watchmaker with part of his time spent on the USS Cascade – a destroyer tender in the US Navy.

When he returned from service, Norman opened his first store in Rockwell City in 1952 and relocated it to Storm Lake just two years later. The store moved just once more – to it’s current location in 1961 where it’s been a staple of Downtown Storm Lake ever since.

After graduation from The University of Iowa, Steve joined his father at Berg Jewelry in 1977 when the third generation of Berg jewelers began working with the third generations of Berg customers!
