Founded by Bruce Basden in 1985 as Basden Industrial, Inc., the Basden Steel group of companies have been built on the principle of providing complete structural services to the commercial construction industry. The primary growth strategy over the last 25 years has been not to do more jobs, but to grow the size of the projects contracted. The experience of the management staff then grows, not the number. We concentrate on a limited list of proven customers, targeting only one or two new clients per year. This is why we consistently have 80 to 90 percent in repeat customer business.

Bruce Basden has a degree in building construction from Texas A&M supporting his career in the general contracting industry. “I feel that my work with the generals gave me a distinct advantage in shaping the company into a service and value operation as opposed to a “best price” seller. Knowing what the general wanted to buy has provided me valuable insight in developing out bidding strategy.

To gain knowledge and insight to where the steel industry is moving, Mr. Basden is active in the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) as well as past president of The Steel Erectors Association of America. He was named “SEAA Man of the Year” in 2004. He firmly believes “You cannot be considered a leader in the industry without providing leadership to the industry.”
