About Company

ATDP was established in 2003 to resolve technical problems in the plastic industry. ATDP is composed of two business divisions. The Proprietary Compounding Division provides specialty products to add value to polymer products. The Recycle Division provides technical solutions to the environmental recycling of incompatible plastics that would otherwise be disposed into land fills. ATDP seeks to leverage our knowledge of polymer engineering and polymer science to assure delivery of quality products, and provides specialized technical service. ATDP employees have customer satisfaction as their highest priority exceeding the customer’s expectations, and building mutually beneficial relationships. Our Quality Commitment is to first earn our customer’s trust by implementing and monitoring our product quality and consistent level of technical service support. The success of our customers is our success.

ATDP Motivation for Excellence in Plastic Recycling

After graduating from the University of Kharkov in Polymer Engineering, I began my career as a polymer research scientist. Later, I was employed as an Technical Services Engineer and Production Manager for major polymer manufacturing companies. Throughout my career, I would receive questions from friends and relatives about the nature of my work in the polymer industry. I was surprised by some of the well-intended responses, when after explaining my primary means of making a living, I would frequently receive an explanation of how my work in polymer production was ruining our environment. I am sure that many of my friends and relatives had heard about the environmental problems that were introduced when plastic materials are mishandled and improperly disposed. The huge floating plastic debris body that moves within the Pacific Ocean has convinced many people that polymers are an environmental disaster - especially when the waste material comes into contact with marine animals. Greenpeace has estimated that this massive conglomeration of plastic waste in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean is one or two times the size of the State of Texas. However, these environmental problems are introduced only when the plastic materials are not properly collected and sorted in order to become useful products again. These frequent misconceptions about the role of polymers in our world have motivated me and my company engineering professionals to make a positive difference in creating productive uses for polymers that would otherwise be disposed or misdirected into sensitive environments like our oceans. A primary reason for plastic materials that find their way into sensitive environments is the advancing technology of composite plastic materials. These composites are plastic layers that are contiguously assembled together to create a useful product that requires multiple polymers to achieve the desired physical and chemical properties. However, when the original, intended use of these composite plastics has ended, the result is a polymer that is difficult to recycle. The composite plastics have the undesirable feature of being a conglomeration of different polymer materials that cannot be easily separated. The expertise that we have developed at ATDP has resulted in a number of technical approaches to achieving recycling success for composite plastics. This success with composite plastics has allowed many of our polymer manufacturing customers to put an end to expensive disposal of plastic wastes. Our experience with successfully working with the composite plastic materials will make a difference in the health of our planet, when we assure that our world environment is not contaminated by mishandled plastic materials.
