History

ArborWorks was originally founded in 2003 by long-time industry veteran and ISA Certified Arborist, Don McIntyre. Since its founding, ArborWorks has carried out tree care in residential, commercial, and utility settings. ArborWorks was acquired by private equity group New State Capital Partners in November 2021. Originally operating in California, ArborWorks has begun expanding throughout the United States.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

 At ArborWorks, we believe that caring for trees extends beyond trimming and removal. It is about protecting the resources they provide and giving back to the communities we serve. A cornerstone of our sustainability goals is reducing waste by recycling and repurposing wood debris. Instead of sending tree waste to landfills, we work to transform it into mulch, compost, and renewable materials that support healthy landscapes and contribute to a circular economy. By turning wood waste into resources, we ensure our work not only protects power and communities today but also safeguards the environment for the future.

Turning Wood Chips into Food in Arizona

Our crews in Arizona have taken sustainability a step further through a unique partnership with the Arizona Worm Farm. Instead of sending wood debris to the landfill, we recycle it into something that feeds both soil and people.

In 2023, ArborWorks diverted more than 2,000 tons of wood chips, which represented over 50 percent of our total wood waste, to the Arizona Worm Farm. In 2024, we increased that figure to 62 percent. At the farm, wood chips are repurposed to create nutrient rich mulch, fuel compost systems, and support the growth of vegetables, worms, and chickens in a fully self sustaining cycle.

Looking ahead, our 2025 Green Goal is clear. We aim to divert more than 70 percent of our wood waste away from landfills and into sustainable reuse streams such as the Arizona Worm Farm. This effort will further reduce our footprint and create meaningful benefits for both the community and the environment.
