Alfa Acciai starts producing steel in the mid-1950s in Brescia. Through a process of continuous internal growth and various acquisitions, the Group, which has about 1,150 employees , reaches a total production capacity of 2.5 million tons per year of steel and rolled products , thus positioning itself at the top of the sector's players.
The main production sites, which guarantee widespread and rapid coverage of the national and neighboring territory , correspond to Alfa Acciai di Brescia, one of the largest electro - steelmaking sites in Italy, to Acciaierie di Sicilia based in Catania, one of the main industrial centers and sole steel mill on the island, with a vocation for export thanks to its proximity to primary port infrastructures, in Ferroberica , the largest Italian operator and second in Europe in pre - shaping and assembly of rebar for structural works with offices in Vicenza, Catania and Udine and finally to the Brescia Tecnofil , which, between the most important drawing mills in Europe complete the wire rod production chain downstream.
