Pratt Industries to build 250,000 square-foot paper recycling facility in Valparaiso

NEW YORK (Scrap Monster) : Conyers based Pratt Industries has announced building of a new 250,000 square-foot paper recycling facility in Valparaiso, Indiana, adjacent to its cardboard box plant. Pratt is planning to make an investment of nearly $260 million dollars towards the project.

Pratt currently owns a 500,000 square-foot cardboard box plant in Valparaiso. The new plant will be built on 25 acres of land adjacent to the existing plant. The new facility is expected to generate as many as 137 jobs by 2018 and is supposed to take in waste paper from all over the country to be recycled for use in the corrugated box plant. The production capacity of the plant is estimated at 360,000 tons of recycled paper per annum, once fully operational.

Pratt Industries is America’s 5th largest corrugated packaging company and the world’s largest, privately-held 100% recycled paper and packaging company. Pratt was founded in the USA some 20 years ago and, since then, has shown dramatic growth with sophisticated manufacturing facilities in more than 20 states. Pratt’s supply chain continues through a series of sheet plants, full-line corrugated box factories and display facilities strategically placed throughout the United States as well as Mexico, offering a wide range of creative packaging solutions.
