IT Asset Disposition Company offers pricing information for e-scrap

COLUMBUS (Scrap Monster): Columbus, Ohio-based Sage Sustainable Electronics has launched a website that offers estimates of values of electronic scrap items. The beta version of the site ‘www.sagebluebook.com’ is considered to be the world’s most comprehensive website that lists pricing information of used electronics.

Businesses and retail customers are often forced to settle for lower prices while disposing of their old computing devices like computers, phones and other electronic devices. According to Jill Vaske, President, Sage, the site offers latest price trends of all electronic items through collection of data from multiple sources. The site could be used as one-stop reference for getting fair market value of used e-scrap, he added. The prices of in-demand items would be updated on a daily or weekly basis, whereas others will be updated less often.

The ‘Sage Blue Book’ also provides wide-ranging information about data erasure techniques and highlights the need to recycled old electronic devices in a sustainable manner. Guest users are allowed to search the site for a single item at a time. Meantime, registered users are allowed to search free up to 10 items simultaneously. They could also save their searches for re-appraisal at a later date.

Sage plans to roll out a pro version in coming weeks. The pro version, available by subscription, will have additional features, including the ability to upload a large list of items to find value estimates and a forecast of future values.

Sage Sustainable Electronics is a privately held Ohio LLC, based in Columbus.Sage is closely held by Robert Houghton and Jill Vaské and Hugo Neu Corporation— a leader in recycling for nearly 70 years. The company operates repurposing centers in Nevada and Maryland and recycling center in New York.
