Sunrise Recycling Services is a family owned business providing curbside recycling pickup to residents and businesses in the Greater Madison County area.  We began this venture after recognizing the enormous difference that recycling made in our own household.  After really getting the hang of it, we realized that the trash we were producing had decreased by at least 75% and thought that by making it easier for people, we could help others to achieve the same results. We actively seek, support, and engage in activities that promote recycling, and sustaining our resources because we strongly believe in the difference that we, as a whole, can make. Our goals are to educate our local community on the benefits of recycling, to increase overall participation, and to provide a service that is instrumental in preserving our environment.

Our Commitment
We have been providing full service curbside recycling since 2010. Through our strategic route planning and paperless invoices, payments, and communications, we strive to create the least possible impact on our environment. We desire to help reduce the amount of landfill waste disposed of in our community and we invite residents and businesses to join in our effort to increase recycling awareness and participation.

The past several years have been filled with a tremendous amount of hard work and challenges. It's really encouraging to watch our group of recyclers grow larger each year. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to serve our community, and we are humbled by the support that we continue to receive from our customers, the general public, and the City of Jackson.  We could never have accomplished this without you, and for that we are sincerely thankful.  When we work together towards a common goal, there is no end to what we can accomplish.

Electronics Recycling 

E-waste, or electronic waste, includes computer hardware & components, and electronic equipment, such as VCRs/DVD players, games systems, MP3 players, fax machines, cell phones, microwaves and others. 

Why is it important to recycle electronics?
E-cycling helps to ensure that heavy metals are safely managed and valuable materials reclaimed for the manufacture of new products. Most of our electronics contain hazardous materials in their composition. These include bromine, lead, mercury, cadmium, PCBs and hexavalent chromium, to name a few. Such materials can cause serious damage to blood systems, increased risk of cancer and multiple other serious health issues.

Local Impacts 

Landfilling old electronics should always be avoided, as it can result in an unwanted release of these contaminants into the landfill leachate, and incinerator ash. What's more, e-waste that isn't properly recycled or disposed of can inadvertently end up in our rivers and other water supplies. Therefore, keeping unused or discarded electronics out of our landfill is imperative for preventing pollution in our community.

All materials collected are processed in our facility in accordance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. We adhere to a zero landfill policy and all of our downstream partners are certified recyclers.
